There is no surprise that Alina Popescu is one of my favorite writers. With Lover's Journey she raised the bar even higher.
"Intense. Touching. Fabulous. Haunting. Riveting." "A roller coaster of emotions"
Two coming of age, friends to lovers stories complementing each other. Decades of love, friendship, growth, and surpassing hardships.
Live, learn, love, and persevere on Edi and Seba's lover's journeys.
Dawn to Dusk - Book One
Edi's life is made up of precious moments.
That first encounter with Robert in rural Romania at eleven. A summer spent together in the same setting a year later. Their first text exchange in high school. The first sexual experience. The first heartbreak--the second and third and fourth chance. The point of total breakdown and the despair of failing. More love than anyone could have warned him about.
No matter how much time passes, no matter how different their paths, every meeting brings Edi and Robert closer together. Those stolen moments shine brighter than any. Yet loving Robert is not easy, not when Edi wants to be true to himself and is met with dishonesty. Or when Robert keeps parading new conquests and ignores Edi more often than not.
Edi has always loved Robert, but he must decide if his journey leads to or away from his childhood friend. Is it true love or is Edi just unable to let go?
"You'll feel like you've run an emotional gauntlet by the end, and you'll be glad you did!"
Dusk to Dawn - Book Two
Since he was thirteen, Sebastian's every precious moment was connected to his first crush, Edi. His protector through his toughest school years, Edi has always guided Sebastian's choices. Love, lust, the realization he was gay, his passion for sports and karate, his studies and career of choice, everything in Seba's life is somehow linked to Edi.
Sebastian's love never faltered over the years, not as he challenged himself to catch up to Edi. Nor when Edi's on and off boyfriend, Robert, showed up to wreak havoc in their lives.
Sebastian has shaped his life to revolve around Edi--his friend, roommate, and occasional lover. But is that the right path for him, or should he start a new journey, one that takes him away from Edi all the way to another country? And will running away solve anything in the end?
"Love the characters! Love the storyline! Definitely two must read books!"
Review: 5 starts
What an incredible emotional journey. It is split between 2 parts, each told from one MC point of view. The fist one, Dawn to Dusk, is Edi's story and it brought back so many wonderful memories from my childhood. Alina menages to paint with accuracy all the details of rural Romania, down to the smallest of them. Edi's growing up is bitter sweet to watch, painful at times, but necessary, because at the end, he is a wonderful man. And yes, I hated Robert.
The second part, Dusk to Dawn, is Seba's story. If at first I was somehow rooting for Robert, because love is blind and it was Edi's point of view, now it became clear just how inappropriate Robert was for Edi and how perfect Seba is. While the Romanian feeling of the story is still there, there is a lot more focus on the emotional side in this story.
Writer, traveler, and coffee addict, Alina Popescu has been in love with books all her life. She started writing when she was ten and she has always been drawn to sci-fi, fantasy, and the supernatural realm. Born and raised in Romania, she finds her inspiration in books of all genres, in movies, and the occasional manga comic book. She is a proud geek who needs her fast Internet and gadgets more than she needs air.

What a wonderful 5* review received for Switching Wesley!!!
"I absolutely loved this story! Wesley and Connor are amazing characters and the connection between them is just beautiful. The premise of two Doms falling for each other was what drew me to this book and the story was not at all disappointing! The attraction between Wes and Connor was so intense, yet character development went well beyond the purely romantic plot. I loved the backstories of these characters, how they handled the definitely challenging situation they found themselves in, and felt like all other characters mentioned in this relatively short read where there for a good reason. It's so refreshing to read a BDSM story where you can be immersed into the world and find the characters relatable. Highly recommended!" - Alina Popescu
In celebration, I have decided to give away 1 free copy of Switching Wesley. To enter the contest, please leave a comment below. The deadline is June, 23rd at midnight GMT. The winner will be randomly selected, and will be announced on Saturday, June, 24th.

Robbie sat at the edge of his bed, staring at his bedroom door. His curtains were closed and his windows were locked, even though a shiny sun hung in the sky outside, illuminating everything in sight. It was another beautiful day, yet he couldn’t bring himself to go out and enjoy it. As much as he tried, he couldn’t face the fact that Vince was out there and wanted him dead.
Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes, going through the last few days in his mind. Everyone had been there for him, comforting him and making him feel special and most importantly, loved. They all had been so nice by putting up with his neurotic behavior. But for how much longer? He wanted to be the guy he was before learning the truth about his past. He wanted to feel safe again. He wanted to feel free. The only two places that he felt safe and free were at home and at school. Everywhere else, he felt unprotected and extremely vulnerable. He needed to be strong though. If John was able to fight Matthew Ward twice, he definitely had what it takes to fight Vince at least once.
The knob on his door turned slightly. His blood froze. Who was that and what did he want? Clearly, it wasn’t Nick or John since they were out shopping for Thanksgiving, and Nicky decided to spend some quality time with Abby at her house. The door then crept open, making Robbie’s breathing come to a sudden stop. His head spun while his heart violently pounded. Who was it? Was that Vince? Was this it? Was he about to die?
